A person's character

I've been thinking whether this is at all true or not.

You can know a person's true character by how they behave during a critical time in their life.

Chinmai, that's also there.. but for that they'd have to be thinking about you/be considerate, right? The folks who believe in tit for tat aren't really there yet. They are nice to us for so long as we are nice and then sometimes they change colors, become something totally different than what we thought they were... then it makes me think, which behavior is real? The one we've seen usually or the one when they're super pissed/angry/upset and how they behave with us?

TBF, you're right. Actually, I was just wondering how a usually normal nicely behaved person changes or acts differently (weird) in tough times. Is that really a right time for us to judge that person? Which person is real? How they usually are or how they are when they are going through hardships?

Imagine their hard earned good reputation going down the drain in a matter of just few moments because they chose to be themselves?

I would say its all in balance.

Say for example, in critical times if a person violated things which are very very fundamental or foundational, he indeed can be judged as a bad charactered person .. If a person completely shifts to other extreme in critical times, he can be judged as a bad charactered .. Also I would say, listening to others and having heart to heart to heart communication is key to know others character .. In critical a person should be given at least one chance to be listened and than get judged ..

Jaydip, laakh rupiya ni vaat kidhi.. the one about heart to heart. Wish it was so easy to talk to some people. Thank you for your insightful comment.

Kiran, welcome & thanks. :) So true about our critical times.

Snehal, that's also quite right. Reminds me of that scene from Munnabhai - see how he behaves with strangers/waiters. Thanks. Hope you're doing great.
