dainik praarthanaa

Navratri is here and so are the pious days of prayers. I wish I prayed to mata ji and other Gods like this all throughout the year instead of nine days. But this is a start. As I think of olden days, I am reminded of the daily prayers we used to say as kids. Though I never attended gharshala (Bhavnagar), I know most of these prayers were part of a daily routine there, and others we used to sing at home while growing up. Wish we too had all these same prayers in Vallabh Vidyanagar (where we had completely different set too, which I'll share later), but nevertheless, here it is. Gujarati prayers.

Soham, that's great to know that a school in Ahmedabad had the same prayers. For some reason we didn't have all of them in VVN schools.

Kumar, of course! :) still say them when doing evening prayers, which isn't as often as I'd like. Nice to know you had them in college as well. I had Sanskrit and Hindi ones in 11th-12th.

Sakhi, wow! that's fantastic to know. I love these and think all the kids who know and understand Gujarati should know of them. Your daughter is very lucky as well. :)

Maharshi, hello! Glad you liked it. Thank you for your comment. Sorry, but I've never attended CN School. The only school I've attended in Ahmedabad is Ankur and that too when I was in kindergarten.

This is the first link that comes up on Google when you search 'ish nu rajya prayer'.
I too have studied at Sheth CN Vidyalaya in Ahmedabad, this blog made me relive my past memories of the long prayer that used to happen on Fridays which included the first 3 prayers. I actually wanted to find the full version of ish nu rajya prayer, but couldn't find it anywhere on the internet, so as Foram said, it would be great if anyone can find and publish it.
I also attended Shreyas School in Ahmedabad for my pre primary, where the last prayer was regularly sung by us.
Your post made me very nostalgic, Thanks very much🙏👍
